Sean and Michelle Clark of Double Dutch Aerobics are giving folks the chance to relive their childhood, and get a heart-pumping workout at the same time. Michelle is a Double Dutch world-champion, bringing her passion and expertise to the masses. No experience is necessary, and all fitness levels are welcome to give this booming exercise craze a try!

Get to know this fit couple, helping change the culture of health in our community.


How did you become Mr. & Mrs. Clark?

We met in August 2008 at Lox Lounge in Brooklyn, New York. Sean was selling his movie  “This Thing Called Love” and I was bartending. Sean gave me the movie at no cost, but in return, he wanted my opinion of the movie. After watching the movie, which I loved, I called to give him my review, and we haven’t stop talking since!

What is Double Dutch Aerobics? Where do you operate?

Double Dutch Aerobics combines Double Dutch with an assortment of aerobics exercises including jumping jacks, push-ups, mountain climbers and other Double Dutch Aerobics combinations, along with street style jumping, inside the ropes. There is no experience necessary. All of our Double Dutch Aerobics Instructors can teach anyone how to jump Double Dutch in less than ONE minute.

Our classes are located in Atlanta, GA at 475 Moreland Ave. and in NYC at Fort Greene Park.


How many calories can be burned during a DDA session?

Between 500-700 calories each class.


You guys recently become vegan and share your journey on social media. What sparked this lifestyle change?


We watched a movie called Vegucated on Netfilx, and at the end of the movie we both decided to try veganism for 30 days. However, we felt so good that we decided to make it a lifestyle. One of the best decisions ever!


What are some of your favorite things to do and/or places to go on date nights?


When you are growing a billion dollar brand, date nights are very rare. Our date nights consist of binge watching on Netflix and fresh popcorn.  During date night, there are no phones or computers allowed.

How has your health journey strengthened your bond?


It’s exciting to embark on a new journey with your partner. We are experiencing and learning new restaurants, new ways to cook and more, together. Ultimately we are learning a healthier way to live, which hopefully allows us more time together in the future. The cool thing is, we are rubbing off on our family and friends and that is what makes this journey really rewarding.

How Many Calories Should I Be Eating? (Formula)

Here’s the formula ⬇️ EXAMPLE

Your WEIGHT ( 300 pounds ) multiply by 14. = ( 4,200 calories ) That will get you your TOTAL MAINTENANCE CALORIES.
Then.

Your MAINTENANCE CALORIE multiply by .25
4,200 calories x .25 = 1,050

Then.

Your MAINTENANCE CALORIE 4,200 subtract 1,050 = 3,150 calories.

3,150 would be your calorie goal

Depending on your workout intensity and job you can lower the deficit % the harder you work the more your body needs!
Now just plug in your weight and try it yourself !

I’m a firm believer in always staying prepared ! Why ? Because if I’m hungry I won’t end up eating fast food or something I know I shouldn’t be having. My suggestion is prepare your food for 2 Days that way it stays fresh 👍🏻 consistency is key and if you want to reach your goals, it’s going to take disciple.
