BFT: What are you up to at the present moment? And what is next for you? We see that you have a new book coming out and you have an app that was recently released!
Andrea: The biggest thing for 2015 that I am gearing up for a sexy & fit challenge; it’s a national challenge we are going to issue. And it is a part of the Sexy & Fit Challenge (#sexyfit).
[pullquote align=”normal”]We’re inviting people to download the new free Body Beautiful App on iTunes. And we are going to be giving out lots of prizes along the way and the whole idea is to get people to download the app, use the tool so the tool allows you to put in your information and get you starting BMI. It will give you a workout based on your skill level and it basically is a motivational tool that you can plug into. So we are just trying to take this comprehensive tool that we spent a lot of time developing and get it into the hands of as many people as possible. [/pullquote]
There is a VIP upgradable portion of that app so once you get the app and you get working with the tools and grocery list and all that kind of stuff, you can upgrade to the virtual coaching element. It is $3.99. The upgrade as well as the download is free off the website, but there are several products that you can take advantage of.
BFT: Do you have any tips, tools and advice? And also, if you could provide us with ways that people can get in touch with you and learn more about what you are doing, that would be great.
Andrea: I think my biggest advice for people is that you really have to create a goal and you have to have a plan. And I think you can start with a small goal and just create a plan that you know you can stick to. Even if your plan is, “Hey, you know what? I want to lose 10 pounds in 2015 and I am going to walk twice a week.” And that sounds so conservative, but I think people should set their activity and they could set their goals high but I think you need to really give yourself time to actually progress into doing something consistently.
…Really take an assessment of your health. You know, like really take an assessment of your health. And I know that sounds really simple but I think it is such a necessary thing like, okay you know, “How much more do I weight than when I graduated from high school?” Something simple like that. Who in my family has high blood pressure and diabetes? What is my waist size? Do I have any issues completing my day and feeling energetic? you know just little things like that and once you come up with where you really, really are, because I think it is really people trying to kind have like face where they really are. I think people can really come up with some real okay, you know what? I will make sure that this year I will do this one, two or three things better and I think people will actually find something to stick with.
That’s really why I created Body Beautiful because my whole mission, my whole goal, my vision was corporate communities and to go beyond individuals. But Body Beautiful is all about teaching people that there is a very simple formula for success. And if people can understand the impact that their lifestyle, the nutrition and their fitness have on their overall health in how they look and how they feel, then that is the one message, that is the one goal that I had when I started the company, and the one I have today when I talk to you, and the one I’ll have tomorrow when I talk to someone else. It is for people to understand that it is all about understanding that it is a formula. And so every time I go and do an event, I usually write that formula out and make sure that my audience understands that this is not that complicated – we’re complicating it!
If you can learn this formula – lifestyle plus nutrition plus fitness, I have done my job today because that’s what Get Body Beautiful is. It is about you understanding that there is a strategy and that if you learn this formula and pick one thing in every area, then you got it. And so that is my message. That is my mantra. That is what I teach.
